They’re here! Over the weekend, all of the artifacts selected for the ROM’s upcoming blockbuster exhibition The Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China's Emperors arrived at the ROM from the Beijing's Palace Museum. Crate upon meticulously packed and sealed crate is sitting in a subterranean vault. The exhibition space is being transformed to feature these, as well as the ROM’s Forbidden City artifacts. The preparators, registrars, conservators and security staff are making the final arrangements in preparation for unpacking the approximately 250 rare objects and setting them out for display. Some of these precious objects have never been outside the Forbidden City. The air is full of anticipation and excitement. All will be revealed in their full beauty and glory on March 8.
