Yesterday, we introduced you to, Dr. ROMulous,  the host of the ROM’s March Break activitity, The Game Show at the End of the World.  Not to leave you in the dark, we are pleased to give you the back story on our superhero of science and history!

Dr. ROMulous was born in the back seat of his parent’s broken down lollipop orange Volkswagen.

While on their way to the Woodstock music festival, Mr. and Mrs. ROMulous took a wrong turn and ended up in Woodstock, Ontario! Dr. ROMulous, as is his nature, arrived early and so the small family decided to stay right there and live.

Young Dr. ROMulous was a very curious child and was always digging for treasures in the woods behind their house. He identified, drew and catalogued over 2,000 species of plants and bugs. Once while vacationing up in Bobcaygeon he even found a Ceraurus globulobatus – a trilobite!

When Dr. ROMulous was ten years old, he and his family moved to Toronto. His first trip to the Royal Ontario Museum was with his Grade 6 class. Unfortunately (or he would say fortunately) he got locked in the bathroom and only managed to get out after the museum had closed. The museum was dark and quiet and Dr. ROMulous wandered through the museum in awe of the enormous dinosaurs and mysterious mummies. A friendly security guard found Dr. ROMulous sound asleep in the Bat Cave. Needless to say his teacher, parents, and the police detective were not very pleased with young ROMulous, but they didn’t know how this event would change his life. He had made up his mind that very night that he would grow up and work at the museum and that is exactly what he did.

Meet Dr. ROMulous during March Break at the ROM (March 10 – 18).  He is hosting the Game Show at the End of the World  at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm all March Break long!
