Call To Toronto Artists!

Are you a professional artist who is passionate about Toronto heritage and museums? Would you welcome the opportunity to showcase your art at the ROM? Well look no further!

The ROM is excited to announce a recent partnership with the Toronto Arts Council! Together with select historic sites, the museum will be joining the innovative Animating Historic Sites and Museums program. Through generous Programming and Exploration Grants, this initiative will enable professional artists, art organizations, and art collectives from any discipline—including visual arts, performance arts, dance, and storytelling—to animate designated public spaces at the museum.

Here at the ROM, artists will have the opportunity to utilize the publically accessible portions of our collections and archives in developing a unique interpretive program. In doing so, we hope to explore alternatives to traditional interpretive practice and to establish a different lens in which the public may experience our site. The museum welcomes the chance to work with artists as they uncover new research, foster new perspectives, and develop a new approach to the sharing of art, culture, and heritage.

Hurry up! The application deadline is July 22nd, 2014!
