16th Annual Fact or Fiction a Huge Success

Hundreds of guests enjoyed a fun-filled night of intrigue and mystery at the ROM on October 16, 2012 at the 16th annual Fact or Fiction fundraiser, hosted by Jeff Douglas and Carol Off of CBC’s As It Happens. New this year, guests were treated to a three-course gourmet dinner with ROM experts.

Thanks to everyone’s hard work and this new format, this year’s Fact or Fiction was the most financially successful edition to date! We also reached a fundraising milestone by hitting the $1 million net mark in funds raised for the ROM since the event’s inception in 1996. This year’s proceeds will support curatorial research and educational programs at the ROM.

The night’s lucky winner walked away with the grand prize — a custom-designed piece of jewellery from !Xam Diamonds made with four carats of rough-cut diamonds. The grand prize winner was also awarded a trip to Tuscany from Georgia Hardy Tours that included roundtrip airfare for two, a $500 car rental voucher, and a five-night stay at La Boscarecce.

Sincere thanks and appreciation for the generous support of all our sponsors and guests. For more information on Fact or Fiction or special events at the ROM, please contact Keiko Okutsu at 416.586.8064 or keiko@rom.on.ca.
