Join the Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC) on Saturday August 25, 201 in the Earth Rangers Studio located within the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity.
The Toronto Wildlife Centre is a charitable wildlife rescue organization providing medical treatment and rehabilitative care to approximately 5000 sick, injured and orphaned wild animals every year. Since opening in 1993, over 270 different species have been admitted for care. With help from volunteers and donors, Toronto Wildlife Centre has grown into Canada’s largest and busiest wildlife centre, and a leader in the field of wildlife rehabilitation.

TWC’s Education Program promotes peaceful co-existence between people and wildlife and humane response to wildlife situations by providing insight and expert advice through the delivery of educational activities and presentations in schools and at community events.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet our wild animal education ambassadors – a garter snake named Ziggy and a large snapping turtle named Hot Dog! Both were stolen from the wild and illegally kept as pets before coming to TWC where they now teach members of the public about the importance of keeping wild animals wild. Visitors can also learn more about common issues affecting urban wildlife, discover what is fact verses myth, and actions they can take to help our wild neighbours.
