Serious about shirtwaists? Crazy about cloche hats? Or nuts about the New Look? This course introduces fashion and style through the first century of the ROM’s existence. Hear about the development of our Textile and Costume department and its collections, and explore fashionable dress and couture from the 1910s to the present. As we journey through the century, we'll investigate the important influences and designers that shaped each period. We'll show you everything from main garments, shoes, accessories and hairstyles to the hidden unmentionables.
