On Saturday February 8th, and Sunday February 9th, 2020 in the Earth Rangers Studio located within the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity, get below the surface and explore Toronto’s wetlands with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA)! We will also highlight what we’ve been doing to keep out invasive species like Common Carp, as well as protect against the major threat of Asian Carp species. Join us to learn what lies beneath the waters of Toronto and why keeping our Lake free of invasive species is so important!
With more than 60 years of experience, TRCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities in Ontario. Working with municipalities and other partners to look after the watersheds of the Toronto region and its Lake Ontario waterfront, we help people understand, enjoy and look after the natural environment. Our vision is for The Living City®, where human settlement can flourish forever as part of nature’s beauty and diversity. Find out how you can get involved with nature in your community by checking out our event calendar, and join us in making the GTA a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live.
*Partners in Protection: In The Studio is a regular event taking place within the Earth Rangers Studio in the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity (Level 2). It is an opportunity for organizations interested in biodiversity-, conservation- and sustainability-related issues to connect with visitors at the Royal Ontario Museum through informal presentations, crafts, games, stories, hands-on specimens and/or other activities, suitable for the whole family. Access is free with general admission.
