The Natural History team cares for and studies over 17 million specimens—from fossils to meteorites. Curators, Technicians, and Collections Specialists lead global research, curate exhibitions, and advance biodiversity and climate studies. Through cross-disciplinary collaboration and academic partnerships, they help preserve and share the wonders of our planet for future generations.

The Art & Culture team explores global histories through curation, research, and preservation. Staff, including Curators and Technicians, bring their skilled expertise as passionate subject-matter experts to presenting exhibitions and overseeing the department's collections.

The Registration and Conservation team ensures the careful identification, preservation, maintenance, protection, and transfer of hundreds of thousands of objects. Collections Managers, Registrars, and Conservators play a vital role in navigating legal and ethical issues, maintaining detailed records, and protecting collections through proper handling and storage.

The Exhibition, Gallery Planning, and Development team is responsible for planning and developing exhibitions both inside ROM and for travelling presentations outside the Museum. They bring our collections to life with meticulous, engaging detail. Roles include Interpretive Planners, 2D and 3D Designers, as well as Preparers responsible for mounting, packing, and the safe transfer of artifacts.

As one of the world’s top museums, ROM prides itself on education and engaging the community and visitors from around the globe. The Learning and Public Programs team—comprised of Teachers, Educators, and Gallery Facilitators—develops and presents diverse public programming that inspires curiosity and builds knowledge, including kids' camps, hands-on workshops, educational resources, special events, and more.

The friendly faces of ROM’s Visitor Experience team sets a warm and inviting tone for every visit. They handle inquiries, ticket sales, and more for Museum visitors in person, online, and over the phone to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for all guests.

This team keeps the museum running—maintaining systems, spaces, and heritage structures. From mechanics to housekeeping staff, every role supports the visitor experience and research activity. It’s a hands-on, collaborative environment where innovation and precision matter, and where staff contribute directly to ROM’s daily operations and long-term success.

The Security team protects ROM’s visitors, staff, and collections—maintaining a safe, welcoming environment year-round. From CCTV monitoring to emergency response, they blend public service and technology in every shift. With hands-on training and opportunities for growth, Security staff play a vital role in safeguarding one of Canada’s most iconic institutions.

This creative team shapes ROM’s voice across marketing, media and public relations, social media, membership, and more—engaging diverse audiences and spotlighting exhibitions and programs. With a focus on collaboration and storytelling, they build meaningful connections that support ROM’s mission and elevate its impact across Canada and beyond.

The Information Technology Services team supports ROM’s digital operations, delivering tech solutions and maintaining systems across the museum. From Developers to Helpdesk staff, they ensure the smooth performance of enterprise platforms and infrastructure. With a focus on collaboration and growth, IT staff make a real impact in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The Retail, Hospitality, and Events team shapes the visitor experience—from warm welcomes to curated retail and event support. As ROM ambassadors, they deliver high-quality, engaging service with energy and care. It’s a fast-paced environment with growth opportunities, where every role helps extend the museum’s impact beyond the galleries.

The Department of Museum Volunteers (DMV) is a cornerstone of ROM's operations, with over 800 dedicated volunteers. They serve as Docents, ROMWalks leaders, Event Support, and Gallery Assistants. Their impact extends beyond the museum, as they even lead tours to different countries, enriching ROM's global presence.

ROM Governors lead philanthropic efforts and foster community partnerships in support of the museum’s mission. Operating as an affiliated but independent entity—similar to a foundation—they play a key role in advancing fundraising priorities and building meaningful connections with donors, sponsors, and advocates across the cultural and corporate landscape.
