Here's an early sneak peek at some of our March Break activities. 

Note: Free stroller parking is available at Coat Check and in Philosopher's Gallery, Level 1, daily from 10am to 4pm.

WILD PHOTO WALK – Daily, 10 AM to 4 PM |  Philosopher's Gallery, Level 1
Pick up a camera and explore animal scenes throughout the gallery. Snap photos as you move from station to station, noticing shapes, patterns, and details that catch your eye. Your photo prints instantly as a keepsake to remember your visit, with digital copies displayed on gallery screens throughout the week.

HIKE THE ROM  – Museum-wide
These walking trails take you on a journey of engaging and unexpected discovery through three floors of galleries. Designed to help you conquer your daily steps goals, each trail invites you to move at the speed you like, all while exercising your body and your mind. 

SHARK SLEUTHS! – Daily, 10 AM to 5:30 PM |  Hands-On Biodiversity and Wonderworks, Level 2
Calling all ocean detectives! Discover why these iconic animals deserve our respect—not our fear. Through family-friendly hands-on activities, you’ll examine shark anatomy, uncover their critical role in keeping ocean ecosystems healthy, and bust common myths to build a deeper appreciation for these misunderstood creatures.

WHAT'S FLUTTERING BY? – March 14 - 20, 10 AM to 4 PM |  Earth Rangers Studio, Level 2
With playful links to Wildlife Photographer of the Year, this activation takes a closer look at the subtle differences between moths and butterflies. Get up close to real specimens, make your own fluttering creature to take home, and snap a pic in our colourful selfie station! 

CREATE A CHROMATOGRAPHY BUTTERFLY – March 21 - 22, 10 AM to 4 PM |  Earth Rangers Studio, Level 2
Get creative with our hands-on art activity station and discover how science and art mix to make colour. Plus, create your own chromatography butterfly to take home.

DIVE DEEPER Sharks have intrigued humans for as long as we have explored the oceans. The terrifying monster from the movie Jaws is what many might imagine when they think of these animals, but they are far more fascinating and complex than their depiction in popular culture.
