Where play meets learning.

ROM welcomes families to a reimagined play-based learning space — a space that invites young children to experiment and connect with the Museum in a playful, interactive, and fun environment.

Just as children's experiences of the world around us change as they grow, WonderWorks has taken the strength of learning and play that was at the foundation of our earlier gallery of discovery, and reimagined it, activating new and innovative approaches to family learning that create meaningful and memorable experiences at ROM for our young audiences. The entire gallery is a place for wonder — so fundamental to children's learning — inviting free choice and exploration through a variety of engaging props, prompts, and play spaces.

WonderWorks primarily serves families with children 3 to 8 years old; however, all are welcome to play, explore, and learn. Gallery staff and volunteers are available to facilitate experiences in the space, ensuring a strong connection between play, learning, and collections in the Museum.

About the Gallery

What?

An interactive, play-based learning space with activities that focus on families with children 3 to 8 years of age.

Where?

Located on Level 2, WonderWorks is a foundational space within the Museum's hands-on galleries, which also includes the Bat Cave and the Patrick and Barbara Keenan Family Gallery of Hands-On Biodiversity. Stroller parking is available, but may be restricted during periods of high visitation. Children under the age of 12 visiting the gallery must be accompanied by an adult.

When?

WonderWorks is open when the Museum is open. Entry is on a first come, first served basis and visitors may need to wait to enter on busy days the gallery reaches capacity.
