At ROM, we want all kids to enjoy our camps, and we recognize that costs can be a barrier for some families. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we are excited to offer subsidies for families who may need assistance.
Due to the high number of applications we receive, we regret that we are not able to fulfill all requests. However, we track the financial needs identified in all subsidy applications and use this information to help us plan budgeting and fundraising priorities for our camps.
Download the attached form and submit to ROMKids Studio, studio@rom.on.ca.
Please Note: Subsidy applications must be received no later than 2-weeks prior to the program start date to be considered.
Entrance: Use the President's Choice School Entrance at the south side of the museum. Go down the small set of stairs at the end of the Museum, located opposite the Museum subway exit, and through the first set of glass doors on the right. We will greet you inside the doors.
Drop-Off and Pick Up: Parking is not available at the Museum. Please refer to the Location and Parking webpage at rom.ca for more information. You may drop off and pick up your children briefly at the school bus loading zone on Queen's Park on the east side of ROM. If it is your first time attending the program, we suggest arriving earlier to allow your child time to acclimate to the environment and our staff.
- Caregivers are responsible for supervising their child at all times of the program (in-gallery, transitions, during snack, circle time).
- Please stay with your child and support them as they explore, participate, and interact with peers
- If you must step away, please ensure staff are notified.
- Children will be participating in art projects and science experiments that may get messy. While smocks are available, children should not come to the program in clothes that absolutely can’t get dirty!
- Please ensure your child always comes to the program with appropriate seasonal attire in the event we go outdoors. During rainy or snowy weather, we ask families to bring a change of shoes.
- Understand that toddlers are learning and developing skills at individual paces. Patience is appreciated.
- Participants should use indoor voices and keep hands and feet to themselves so everyone can focus and enjoy the program. If voices get too loud or energies are too high, caregivers are encouraged to take their children for a breather and rejoin once calmed.
- We ask that caregivers avoid directing or disciplining other children. If a concern arises, please speak with a staff member.
- We kindly ask that phone use be kept to a minimum during the program.
- Treat all children, caregivers, and staff with courtesy and respect.
- Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
- For child safety and comfort, caregivers are not permitted to physically intervene with any child other than their own. If a concern arises, please notify a staff member.
- Discrimination, harassment, or aggressive behaviour (verbal or physical) will not be tolerated. If behaviour is deemed greatly unsafe to staff, peers, and/or the Museum, participants will be removed from the program and reparations made to property and/or police involved if necessary.
- For the wellbeing of all participants, please do not attend if you or your child is unwell. Please contact us at studio@rom.on.ca or 416.586.8043 if your child will be absent.
- Inform staff of any allergies, medical needs, or support requirements for children or caregivers.
- ROMKids is Nut Aware—please do not include food containing nuts or nut byproducts in your child’s lunch/snack.
