The ROM Teacher's Son

I'm a teacher in education and programs at the Royal Ontario Museum. When my son was in the first grade, he told his teacher, "Life is not fair because I have to go to school while my mom gets to go to the ROM every day."

Grade 5 at the ROM

In early 1988 my grade 5 gifted class took advantage of an amazing opportunity: we spent every Wednesday for six weeks at the ROM. Each visit was dedicated to a specific theme.

Margaret MacLean, Educator

Margaret MacLean is appointed guide to the collections. Though well-educated, she has to satisfy each Director that she is competent to guide people through his galleries and his approval must be sent in writing to Board.

School Outreach

Classes for school children begin in 1933 and continue today.  Lillian Payne, the first teacher, paid for by the Toronto School Board, worked at the ROM for 21 years.
