Last Chance to experience VIKINGS at the ROM

TORONTO, March 6, 2018—VIKINGS: The Exhibition sets sail from the ROM on Monday, April 2, 2018. This is the last chance to experience this fascinating exhibition of rarely seen objects, offering a fresh perspective and challenges some of the commonly held myths and perceptions about the lives of the Norse people. Presented by investment dealer Raymond James Ltd., the exhibition is a ROM partnership with the Swedish History Museum and MuseumPartners.

VIKINGS: The Exhibition features interactive displays and nearly 500 original objects from the collections of the Swedish History Museum – many rarely seen outside of Scandinavia – that provide a window into the lives of these legendary explorers, artisans and craftspeople whose culture flourished between the 8th and the 11th centuries.

Exclusive to the ROM, the exhibition includes a section on the Vikings in Canada that takes visitors back in time over1,000 years and explores the Vikings footprint in Canada. This section showcases artifacts from Nunavut and L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland, the only Viking settlement known in North America.

The exhibition is a joint venture between and produced by The Swedish History Museum in Sweden and MuseumsPartner in Austria.
