À propos
Join new parents and caregivers for an eight-week ROMKids program designed for babies under two. Each week invites little learners into the Museum for a gentle, sensory-rich experience that supports early literacy, visual exploration, and tactile discovery.
Guided by a ROM Instructor, sessions focus on how babies make meaning through looking, touching, listening, and moving. Using objects, artworks, and materials inspired by the Museum’s collections, babies are encouraged to explore patterns, shapes, textures, and faces—building the foundations for communication, attention, and curiosity in a learner-centered environment.
The program embraces each child’s pace and interests, creating space for rolling, crawling, observing, reaching, and responding in their own way. Caregivers are supported in noticing and extending their baby’s learning through simple strategies that foster connection and shared discovery.
This is a welcoming environment where the natural rhythms of baby life—feeding, fussing, resting, and playing—are part of the experience, and where early learning begins through wonder, interaction, and relationship-building.

Once inside, head to the ROMKids Studio at the end of the hall to park your stroller and wait for the program to begin. Baby carriers or slings are recommended as it will be easier to move through the building as a group.
If it is your first time attending the program, we suggest arriving earlier to allow your child time to acclimate to the environment and our staff.
- Caregivers are responsible for supervising their child at all times of the program (in-gallery, transitions, during snack, circle time).
- Please stay with your child and support them as they explore, participate, and interact with peers
- If you must step away, please ensure staff are notified.
- Little Wonders will be participating in art projects and multi-sensory activities that may get messy.
Smocks are available, but we recommend dressing both yourself and your child in comfortable clothing that can handle a little creative fun!
Every child develops and learns at their own pace. We appreciate your patience and understanding as little ones explore new experiences.
Babies have good days, busy days, sleepy days, and everything in between! If your child needs a break, feel free to step away and rejoin the group whenever you're ready.
- We ask that caregivers avoid directing or disciplining other children. If a concern arises, please speak with a staff member.
We encourage caregivers to be present and engaged by keeping phone use to a minimum during the program.
- Treat all children, caregivers, and staff with courtesy and respect.
- Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
- For child safety and comfort, caregivers are not permitted to physically intervene with any child other than their own. If a concern arises, please notify a staff member.
