In celebration of the upcoming release of Jurassic World Rebirth, get ready to travel back in time—way back to the Mesozoic Era! Join us for Jurassic Weekend at ROM, where dinosaurs rule and adventure awaits.

Whether you're five or five million years old, Jurassic Weekend promises fun, fascinating facts, and a roaring good time!

Free with Museum admission. No time machine required.

Activities

Chomp! How Dinosaurs Ate
10 am to 4 pm | Level 2, Age of Dinosaurs Gallery
Get hands-on with real fossils and replica dinosaur teeth in this drop-in activity for all ages! Discover the differences between herbivores and carnivores by examining dino dental clues. Touch fossilized poop (yes, really!), feel the texture of dinosaur skin, and explore fossilized plants to learn what dinosaurs ate—and what they left behind. Plus, try on a dino costume and imagine life in the prehistoric past!

10 am to 4 am | Level 2, Age of Dinosaurs Gallery
Meet ROM dinosaur experts and learn all about our prehistoric friends—including how fossils are prepared for research and display. Examine real specimens up close and ask all your burning palaeo questions!

Dino-mite Tours
1 pm, 1:30 pm, 2 pm, & 2:30 pm | Meet on Level 1, Chen Court at the Futalognkosaurus
Have you ever wondered why dinosaurs are like the superheroes of the animal kingdom? Is it the sheer awe of imagining them in action, or just the thrill of their colossal size? While we might not get to see these giants (or even the not-so-giant ones) roaming the Earth again, we can come face-to-fossil-face with them and see if they really live up to their legendary status! Hop aboard our time machine (okay, it’s more like a very cool tour), and let’s journey back to the Age of Dinosaurs. You'll meet some truly majestic beasts—without the need for a time-traveling DeLorean or Tardis. Dive into the roar-some world of ancient giants and discover what makes these prehistoric creatures so incredibly awesome! 

Fossil Quest: Dino Detectives Unite!
11 am & 3 pm | Meet on Level 1, Chen Court at the Futalognkosaurus
Get ready to travel through time on a prehistoric adventure hunt! From the first fierce predators to the mighty giants of the late Cretaceous, you’ll uncover dino facts, solve ancient puzzles, and test your paleontology skills. Gather your team, channel your inner explorer, and race through millions of years of history. The winning team will walk away with a dino-mite prize pack—perfect for any future fossil hunter! Ready, set… ROAR! To play, bring your mobile device with the Scavify app downloaded.  It's free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Quest takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
