About

Step aboard the “Ocean Nova” for a 12-day cultural expedition that circumnavigates Newfoundland and brings centuries of history, culture, and natural beauty vividly to life. Curated by Adventure Canada, ROMTravel guests will embark on this immersive small-ship journey that begins and ends in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and offers a rare opportunity to explore one of Canada’s most storied and scenic regions in the company of like-minded travellers and expert guides.

You’ll visit some of the North Atlantic’s most iconic and culturally significant sites, including UNESCO World Heritage sites like Gros Morne National Park, known for its dramatic geology and pristine wilderness, and L’Anse aux Meadows, the only authenticated Viking site in North America. Along the way, experience the enduring presence of Indigenous cultures with a visit to Miawpukek, a vibrant Mi’kmaq community, and uncover the French legacy with a stop in Saint Pierre, France’s last remaining territory on the continent.

This thoughtfully designed itinerary includes access to remote and often inaccessible locations such as the stunning outport village of Francois, nestled within fjord-like cliffs, where traditional ways of life continue in isolation. You'll travel alongside historians, naturalists, and cultural experts provided by Adventure Canada, whose decades of experience in expedition cruising ensure thoughtful engagement and authentic experiences at every stop.

Whether you’re a seasoned cultural traveller or simply eager to see Canada through a new lens, this is a unique opportunity to travel with purpose. More than a vacation, it’s an educational voyage where every day brings new discoveries.
