ROM Speaks: Shane Gross

Shane Gross, the Grand Title Winner of Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2024, delivers an illustrated lecture on his work as a marine conservation photojournalist, which has taken him everywhere from the underwater world of the Bahamas to research vessels off the coast of Vancouver Island. An Associate Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers, Shane is a master storyteller, whose words and images burst with wonder and life.  

After the illustrated lecture, Anthony Morgan, co-host of CBC’s The Nature of Things, joins Shane onstage for a conversation on photographing—and conserving—dolphins, sharks, whales, and countless other creatures that live underwater.
