As we approach the winter solstice, peoples in the northern hemisphere’s thoughts turn to light and making it through the rest of the winter. Join us at ROM for the Wintertime Wonders Learn & Explore Day and explore how various groups of people and animals spend this time of year.

During our interdisciplinary one-hour session, we will investigate celebrations of light, winter activities, and innovations and adaptations to survive in the cold.

Curriculum links addressed from grades 3 to 5 include Social Studies and Science & Technology.
After our group session, you will have time to explore ROM on your own. See how many cultural belongings, ancestors, artefacts and objects you can find that relate to light, winter and celebrating life! How many adaptations for surviving the winter can you identify?
