Annual Reports
Royal Ontario Museum is an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Culture. ROM Board of Trustees is responsible for the conduct of the Museum and is vested with powers by the Legislature of Ontario, in accordance with Royal Ontario Museum Act and is subject to the provisions of the Corporations Act and the Trustees Act.

The Annual Report describes Museum activities in the past fiscal year and accounts for all monies spent. As required, the accounts and financial transactions are audited by an independent auditor appointed by the Board and the Annual Report is presented to the Lieutenant Governor in Council. ROM Governors is accredited under the Imagine Canada Standards Program. Launched in May 2012, Imagine Canada’s Standards Program is among the first of its kind at a national level and is designed to strengthen public confidence in the charitable and non-profit sector. It offers accreditation to charities and non-profits that can demonstrate excellence in five key areas, including Board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management and volunteer involvement.
