Korean ceramics are hailed as some of the most beautiful in the world. Trace its history through stoneware from as early as 57 BC, to stunning celadon-glazed objects (shown here), blue-and-white porcelains, and works by leading modern ceramicists.
The world's earliest known woodblock text was printed in Korea in the 8th century AD, and the Koreans invented the world's first metal movable type in the early 13th century AD.
The artistry and beauty of Korean painting and calligraphy have been highly esteemed throughout history as a testament to technical skill, and moral and cultural refinement.

Hundreds of objects from ceramics and furniture to technology and metalwork chronicle the history of Korea in the only permanent gallery of Korean art in Canada. Gallery highlights include pieces highlighting the history and development of Korean ceramics from stoneware to porcelain, and Korea's rich history of printing, calligraphy and painting.
