I think it's odd that the museum describes this dress as having belonged to Marie Antoinette when there is no definitive proof that it actually did.

Thank you for this peek into the history of fashion and its preservation. I'm curious to know in what way the dress has been altered. What would it have looked like when Marie Antoinette wore it?

Is this dress still at the ROM? Is it still in an exhibit? I would love to see it, I live close to Toronto.

Hello Alisa,

Unfortunately this dress is not currently on display. If you enjoy fashion I recommend visiting our Iris Van Herpen: Transforming Fashion exhibit that opens June 2, 2018.

Hello Jenn,

At this time her dress and belongings are not on display and do not have a date of returning to the ROM. However, if Marie-Antoinette's belongings are on display in the future, we will share on our social media and website!
