TORONTO, November 20,2020 — The Royal Ontario Museum announced today that it will temporarily close its doors to the public starting Monday November 23, 2020.
ROM Director & CEO Josh Basseches has issued the following statement:
“In accordance with the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health and the Government of Ontario, we will be temporarily closing the ROM to the public. The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors remains our top priority. We will continue to take guidance from and follow the recommendations of our public health officials regarding the pandemic and look forward to opening our doors again once it is safe and responsible to do so.”
While the doors of the ROM are temporarily closed, visitors can continue to explore the Museum online with ROM at Home. Featuring live discussions, topical Q&As, educational activities, and behind-the scenes videos from ROM curators and experts, ROM at Home programming is accessible through www.rom.on.ca and the ROM’s social media channels. Updates on the duration of this closure will be announced as information becomes available.
