Explore the ROM’s Samuel European Galleries to understand the word of authors like Austen and Dickens.  Discuss the history of the Regency and the Victorian (from about 1750-1900) and explore major social issues including political philosophy, gender issues, the scientific revolution and the effects of industrialization.  In the course of this program, students may also visit the following galleries:  Patricia Harris Gallery of Textiles & Costume, Sigmund Samuel Gallery of Canada and Galleries of Africa: Egypt.
