Join us on Saturday October 13, and Sunday October 14, 2018 in the Earth Rangers Studio located within the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity, and 'travel' to a wetland with Toronto Zoo's Adopt-A-Pond Wetland Conservation Progamme to learn about all the 'toad-ally' awesome reptiles and amphibians that live right in our own backyards!
The Toronto Zoo’s Adopt-A-Pond Programme works to design and deliver impactful conservation-focused research, restoration, and outreach that highlights the importance of saving Canada’s sensitive wetland species and their habitats.
Learn how to identify frogs based on their calls, turtles by their shell, and the one venomous snake in Ontario. Hear traditional stories of how turtles and other animals are significant in First Nation communities. Become a citizen scientist in Ontario TurtleTally and Frog Watch Ontario programs. Meet a real-life zookeeper and hear about all the awesome conservation projects going on at the Toronto Zoo, and even take a ‘shell-fie’ with our amazing replica turtle, frog, and snake sets!
*Partners in Protection: In The Studio is a regular event taking place within the Earth Rangers Studio in the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity (Level 2). It is an opportunity for organizations interested in biodiversity-, conservation- and sustainability-related issues to connect with visitors at the Royal Ontario Museum through informal presentations, crafts, games, stories, hands-on specimens and/or other activities, suitable for the whole family. Access is free with general admission.
