Come join Planet Madagascar in the Earth Rangers Studio from 11 AM to 4 PM on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 in the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity as we take you on a virtual journey of discovery to Madagascar. Come explore the wilds of Madagascar with us!
Working in Ankarafantsika National Park, Madagascar, Planet Madagascar’s goal is to protect lemur habit and help build sustainable forest communities. Planet Madagascar protects and restores lemur habitat through their fire management and forest restoration program Atiala Salama, engages in conservation education throughout the park, and helps improve sustainability through a women’s cooperative focussed on sustainable forest restoration and dynamic agroforestry. In the future they plan to develop new projects that focus on community sanitation and water quality, family planning and maternal health, economic and employment opportunities, and education and training. Here in Canada Planet Madagascar gives talks to schools, does virtual events, and is developing a Madagascar Ambassador program for students.
