The ROM is celebrating Earth Month in April with all things nature through our Partners in Protection: In The Studio program. From wildlife conservation to protected spaces, each weekend in April, you can meet local groups who are leaders in conservation, and also learn about research at the ROM! Join us, and be inspired by each organization's mission to protect the natural world.

On Saturday April 14, and Sunday April 15, 2018 in the Earth Rangers Studio located within the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity, get to know the staff and volunteers from Ocean Wise to learn how you can keep our oceans healthy and sustainable!

Overfishing is a major threat facing our lakes, rivers and oceans today. The Ocean Wise seafood program works directly with restaurants, markets, food services and suppliers to ensure they have the most current scientific information regarding sustainable seafood and to help them make ocean-friendly buying decisions. The options are highlighted on their menus and display cases with the Ocean Wise symbol, making it easier for consumers to make ocean-friendly seafood choices. With thousands of partner locations across Canada, the Ocean Wise seafood program helps ensure the health of our lakes, rivers and oceans for future generations.

Join us in the Earth Rangers studio to hear from our team of seafood experts about where to find ocean-friendly seafood, what questions to ask when you’re at the grocery store or out to eat, as well as learn more about sustainable fishing methods and how what you buy can help safeguard our waterways for days to come. *Partners in Protection: In The Studio is a regular event taking place within the Earth Rangers Studio in the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity (Level 2). It is an opportunity for organizations interested in biodiversity-, conservation- and sustainability-related issues to connect with visitors at the Royal Ontario Museum through informal presentations, crafts, games, stories, hands-on specimens and/or other activities, suitable for the whole family. Access is free with general admission.
