ROM Connects
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In the first six months of 2018, at least 78 women, likely more, have been killed in acts of violence in Canada. The #ItsNeverOkay and #MeToo movements have brought issues of sexual violence, harassment and inequality to the forefront. But what happens when the hashtags lose momentum? Join us as local gender equality experts host an open and honest conversation about how to keep up the momentum these movements have created, and successfully achieve equality and equity in the future. The panelists will discuss feminism, misogyny, the importance of intersectional activism and male allyship.

The ROM provides a space for difficult and sometimes challenging conversations. Our #MeToo & the Arts program includes events that discuss sexualized harassment and assault, which may bring up difficult feelings for some participants and attendees.
