Inspiring Brighter Futures

Thanking our School Visits Bursary partners

Each day at the Museum, inspiration takes hold in many incredible ways. For our visiting school groups, it can be a young student examining real specimens from our solar system in their hands, or being introduced to computer coding through innovative learning programs in the ROM Makerspace. These small moments of discovery can be transformative, connecting children and youth with new career directions and igniting a passion for lifelong learning. Many of these moments, however, wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support of our School Visits Bursary Program partners.

Since its inception in 2005, the School Visits Bursary Program has enabled more than 184,000 student visits to the ROM, subsidizing the cost of bus transportation, guided gallery tours, and hands-on learning programs led by experienced educators. For the 2016–17 school year, 29,903 student visits—or about one in four of all student visits to the Museum—were enabled through the generosity of our valued partners.

This year, we are pleased to welcome The Guarantee Corporation of North America and the Cowan Foundation as our latest partners of the School Visits Bursary Program. We deeply appreciate the continued commitment of our education partners, whose inspiring support better enables the ROM to enrich learning for students across the province. On behalf of all the children and youth who are able to let their imaginations soar at the Museum thanks to your support, thank you for helping us inspire the full potential of future generations.
