Inaugural Run for the ROM Brings Museum Family Together

We were delighted to participate in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Group Charity Challenge on October 14, 2012. Many ROM staff came out as walkers and runners and the Museum was an official neighbourhood cheering station along the route. Despite the rainy weather, spirits were soaring high at the ROM with the help of U of T Varsity Blues cheerleaders and the Heavyweights Brass Band.

Janet Carding, ROM Director and CEO, walked the half-marathon as an official neighbourhood challenge champion and made it across the finish line in just over three hours!

A sincere thank you to the many volunteers and friends of the ROM who showed their support for our participants. Together, we raised over $26,000 in support of the Museum's highest priorities, including the future Gallery of Early Life! Our custom-designed RUN for the ROM T-shirts were also greatly admired and can still be purchased at the Drake General Store.

Your support, enthusiasm and participation in this wonderful initiative was greatly appreciated - thank you and see you next year!
