Tour, Textiles, and True Love

I met my husband when we both were involved in the Scarborough Gilbert & Sullivan Society and their production of Yeoman of the Guard. We had our first date on May 1, 1997 and three weeks later, on the Saturday of the Victoria Day Long Weekend, we decided to spend the day at the ROM. We will still getting to know each other and it had been years since either of us had been to the ROM. During our visit, we discovered we both had a mutual love of the textile and costume galleries as well as an appreciation of Canadian and First Nations history. For some reason, I kept the little round metal button that the ROM volunteer attached to my coat collar when we first entered the museum. Less than three weeks later, my boyfriend became my fiancé and we were married less than six months later! We signed up for the ROM newsletter at that first visit in May 1997 and became members in the early 2000s.
