M.A. Fritz Travel Grants for the Advancement of Studies in Palaeontology
Funded through an endowment created by Madeleine A. Fritz, former curator at the ROM, two awards will be offered annually to help offset the costs of visiting and studying ROM palaeontology collections: one for the study of fossil invertebrates (including plants and trace fossils) and one for vertebrate fossil study. These awards are intended for students working towards a Masters or Ph.D. degree in palaeontology. Each award is for a maximum amount of $1,000 Canadian, to be used toward travel and lodging expenses only. The deadline for receipt of proposals is June 1, 2020.
Applicants should send their CV, a short budget, and a proposal of no more than two pages, consisting of an outline of the proposed research, and how a visit to the ROM’s collections will be beneficial/necessary for the completion of the thesis. The successful applicants are encouraged to give a 30-minute, brown-bag lunch talk on their research during their tenure at the ROM. Mailed or e-mailed proposals are acceptable.
