About

The interiors of the ROM’s lobby are the canvas for Canadian artist Charles Pachter’s imaginative digital presentation.

Pachter, described as a “Northern Warhol,” uses images of Canadian icons to create quirky, humourous and poignant multimedia installations. From the moose to the maple leaf, the Queen to the butter tart, Pachter recreates common objects into visual poems, examining them as pop art symbols of post-colonial contemporary Canadian art.

Torontonians will be familiar with Pachter’s Hockey Knights in Canada, which adorns the walls of the College Street subway station.
