Thanks for the comments Lynda!

The three main reasons we are piloting the use of Google+ Hangouts on Air are:

1. They are free and ad free (as opposed to Livestream/Ustream's free service)

2. We can embed them on our website, they are also streamed live on our YouTube channel and recorded/saved there

3. Beacuse we can embed them, people do not need a Google+ account to watch

So while there may not be a large (compared to other social netowrks) number of people using Google+ right now, I think the reasons above speak for themselves. Google+ Hangouts are simply a live video chat, only the host and nine other people (with a Google+ account) can login and take part, but, there is no limit to the amount of people that can watch live via Google+, YouTube, or where ever we embed the hangout. I hope this answers your questions, if it is not too late/early downunder, log in and take part or watch our next hangout. We're doing them all month, every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00pm EST. If you can't make it, check out our YouTube channel!

All the best,

Ryan / @wrdodger
