kironcmukherjeeBio
As the ROMKids Coordinator & Camp Director, Kiron is the public face of the Royal Ontario Museum's family and children's programs.
Kiron is an educator who works with students of all ages to help creatively express their scientific curiosity and wonder.
After 18 years at the Royal Ontario Museum, most recently as the ROMKids Camp Director, Kiron believes in the profound power that science, art and story have on children's learning and development.
Kiron is also a professor with Fleming College and their Environmental Visual Communications program where he challenges students to tell innovative stories with integrity and narrative in a society full of misinformation.
Kiron serves on the board of advisors for OWL Magazine and was named one of Canada's 100 Voices of Science Communication by Science Borealis. He has also been featured in the Toronto Star, National Post and the Globe and Mail as well as on TVO, YTV, Global Television and more. In addition to his extensive and proven experience in curriculum development, Kiron is most proud of cultivating enthusiastic community advocates for the programs he works with.
Kiron started volunteering at the ROM at age 14 and has never looked back. Now, he strives to provide engaging and educational kids' programming so that future generations can look back on their ROM experiences as fondly as he has. Though he majored in History at York University, Kiron also considers his early years as a ROMKids camper to be a highly formative part of his education.
You can follow his adventures, and get a peek at what ROMKids gets up to, online on his personal Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and ROMKids Tumblr.
