John H. McAndrews is Senior Curator Emeritus in the Department of Natural History at the ROM.
John H. (Jock) McAndrews came to the ROM in 1967 as Associate Curator of Geology, where he established a research program on the fossil pollen grains in Great Lakes sediment. He later became Curator of Geology, and then Curator of Botany before retiring from the ROM in 1996. He maintains an active research program and current projects include: Great Lakes water level history, interglacial vegetation, Iroquoian farming at Crawford Lake and extinction of mastodon following comet impact. He is also Professor Emeritus in the Departments of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Geology at the University of Toronto, where he assists undergraduate researchers.
