Monday - Friday, 10 am - 5 pm. Closed on weekends and holidays.
The Museum Archives is located inside the Richard Wernham and Julia West Library on Level 1 (main floor) of the Museum; access is through the ROM's main Michael Lee Chin Crystal entrance on Bloor Street, or via the Weston Entrance on Queen's Park. To obtain a special library pass, free-of-charge, identify yourself as a Library & Archives' patron at the Museum Concierge Desk.
The Museum Archives holds historical records and documents relating to the ROM, including unpublished manuscripts and photographs, as well as Special Collections with archival materials relating to the collections of the ROM.
There are several finding aids for the Archives; users may consult them in the Sackler Reading Room in the Richard Wernham and Julia West Library. For the Special Collections holdings, click here for an alphabetical list that includes links to detailed descriptions or finding aids where available.

The following resources may also be of use to researchers:
- Archives Canada is an official archival portal maintained by the Canadian Council of Archives and it is a gateway to archival resources found in over 800 repositories across Canada.
- Archeion is Ontario's Archival Information Network, an online research tool providing access to descriptions of archival records held by organizations across Ontario.
- A small number of the archival photographs relating to the ROM are available through ROM Images, an online image collection that highlights some of the ROM's research activities and its growth and history. The image collection is available for private enjoyment and study. ROM Images includes an online licensing tool to facilitate the ordering of images for personal or commercial use.
