Go Green at the ROM with Family Funday: Earth Matters

On Sunday, April 23, 2017

TORONTO, April 13, 2017 – Celebrate International Earth Day with Family Funday: Earth Matters at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), on Sunday, April 23, 2017. From little critters to giants of the deep, ROM visitors will explore the wonders of our living planet with exciting museum-wide experiences and hands-on activities.

Experience Out of the Depths: The Blue Whale Story —one of the most talked about exhibitions of the year. Come face-to-face with Blue -- a massive 80-foot blue whale skeleton, one of the largest and most-complete blue whale skeletons on display in the world.

Family Funday: Earth Matters highlights include:

•    An interactive live insect experience with the six-legged stars of Entomica.

•   Learn about Ontario’s 20 different species of bumble bee with Wildlife Preservation Canada.

•   Dive into the world of Ocean Wise, and learn from sustainable and farmed seafood sourcing experts.

  • Touch live animals from Hands On Exotics, and come face-to-face with the ROM’s Annam walking sticks and Madagascar hissing cockroaches.

Activities run from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Family Funday: Earth Matters is free with Museum admission. Out of the Depths: The Blue Whale Story is a separately ticketed exhibition.
