Named Endowment Funds:
Vivian Family Endowment Fund

The following is the story of a named endowment fund established by Dr. Nancy J. Vivian, who has been a member of the Royal Patrons' Circle and the Currelly Society since 2002.

I established the Vivian Family Endowment Fund to support research at the Museum for two main reasons: I wanted to affirm my own personal interest in research through a gift to a major Canadian research institution, and I wanted to pay homage to my parents and the other members of our family who provided me with an enormous amount of support and encouragement throughout my university career. By setting up this fund in my lifetime, I was able to choose its mandate and look forward to hearing about the work sponsored. I intend to contribute to the fund on a regular basis, and have insured that it will increase still further upon my passing through a bequest in my will. It is my sincere hope that this endowment will be a lasting tribute to a family that advocated high standards for our educational system and recognized excellence in the field of research.
