Gift of Life Insurance: Gwen Harvey

The following is the story of a gift of life insurance made by Gwen Harvey, a ROM Governor and Currelly Society member.

"As a past chair of the Currelly Society Executive Committee, I am aware of the importance planned gifts have on the future success of the ROM. Considering my own options, I felt that a gift of life insurance was the best option for me. This type of gift allows me to make a future gift to the ROM and does not impact the present needs of my family. I chose a 'quick-pay' policy which means that within ten years the policy would be fully funded with a guaranteed future payout to the Museum. I receive an annual tax receipt for the premiums I've paid. While this type of gift ensures that I can provide for both my family and the ROM, I can also envision planning a gift to the ROM in my will as my children become more independent. Today I have the pleasure of working with staff to establish the guidelines for my gift, ensuring it supports the programs I choose."
