Egyptian Footed Bowl
Glazed earthenware, footed bowl, from an Egyptian pot ca. 3300 B.C.
Royal Ontario Museum, Dr. Wallace Graham Collection, 900.2.128.
The original pot is made of Nile clay. It is of the "fancy shape" category and this particular footed type is quite rare. Its use is unknown but we imagine the Egyptians found it as amusing as we do.
Handmade by Rebecca McCarthy.
Note re: care of bowl - this bowl has a hand applied finish that will come off if the piece is immersed in water or used for "wet" foods. To retain the bowl's finish, use dry only and lightly wipe to clean.
Diameter: 5.7" (14.5 cm)
Height: 2 7/8" (7.5 cm)
Item #4041
Regular price: $42.00 each
