Bar Towel
100% cotton towel, decorated with a variety of glassware taken from line drawings from the records of the Department of Western Art and Culture, Royal Ontario Museum.
During the first four decades of this century, most new artifacts entering the permanent collection of the Royal Ontario Museum were accurately recorded in small black ink drawings by the Museum artists. Unfortunately, the drawings end abruptly in the early 1940's when it can be presumed that the Museum first hired a permanent photographer. The drawings are unsigned. They are as beautiful today as when they were created and many of the illustrations are still used by staff to update or check information.
