Hamra Abbas: An Intimate Artist's Talk

Join us for a talk with the artist behind the work Read, a multi-media installation on display at the ROM until March 28. Abbas will discuss her art and her experiences working with institutions around the world.

Read is a suspended labyrinth-like wooden structure, concealing speakers playing the sound of children reciting the Qur’an as they memorize its verses. Hamra Abbas was born in Kuwait in 1976, and now lives and works between Boston and Islamabad (Pakistan).

Seating is limited, and is provided on a first come, first serve basis.
