When Bear, Turtle & Llama Roamed the Skies: Astronomy in the Ancient Americas

Tuesdays, Apr 17 - May 22, 6:30 - 8:30 pm (6 weeks)

Status: The first session of this program has begun. Registration not available.

Observation of the stars was essential for the workings of all ancient civilizations. The recent discovery of an astronomical observatory in Peru older than Britain’s Stone-henge reveals an astronomical heritage more than 4,200 years old. Explore the astronomy, archaeology, culture, mathematics, mythology, science and writing of peoples such as the Maya, Moche and Inca.
