Northern Harrier
Northern Harrier - Circus cyaneus
Appearance: Crow-sized slim, gliding hawk with long, rounded wings and tail. Up close, male is pale grey, female is brown. In flight, an obvious white patch on the lower back.
Behaviour: Flies low over marshes and grassland looking for small mammals.
Habitats: Open habitat, especially grasslands, marshes and old fields.

Northern Saw-whet Owl
Northern Saw-whet Owl - Aegolius acadicus
Appearance: Robin-sized, square-looking bird of prey with front-facing eyes. Up close, round head with no erect ear-like feathers.
Behaviour: Active at night. During the day, roosts in dense conifer trees. Tame, and approachable when perched. Call, given a lot in early spring, is a series of whistles.
Habitats: Forest, especially moist conifer forest.

Olive-sided Flycatcher
Olive-sided Flycatcher - Contopus borealis
Appearance: Robin-sized slender, olive bird with a broad, flat beak, and a triangular-shaped head. The wings have white stripes on them.
Behaviour: Catches insects in flight. Often perches on top of dead tree on lookout for flying prey. Loud song sounds like "hic, three beers!".
Habitats: Forest, especially forest edge with dead standing trees.
