WINTER TRAVEL: THE DOGS
WINTER TRAVELTRAVELLING BY DOG TEAM | THE SLEDGE | THE DOGS | HARNESSING THE DOGS | THE WHIP

Puppies destined to become sledge dogs are carefully cared for when young. They are first harnessed around four months of age and over time become accustomed to pulling with the older dogs. However, before they are useful sledge dogs, they become very familiar with the sting of the whip.
