| Skin Scraper
Made of ivory and stone
Scrapers like this are used to remove fat from fresh skins
and subcutaneous tissue from dried skins. They are also used for softening stiffened
skins. The indentations on the ivory handle take the thumb and fingers of the
right hand. The flat surface of the blade is placed on the skin surface and the
scraper is pushed away from the worker.
