THE ROLE OF IVORY | HOW THE INUIT HAVE USED IVORY

Fish Hook
Made of ivory, lead, glass bead, metal, wood, sinew

The hook is attached to a whalebone line and jigged for whitefish. The fish are attracted to the motion of the hook; the metal barb pierces them as they nibble at the ivory shank.
