Harpoon-Line Rack

The coiled sealskin rope was positioned on the deck or on a harpoon-line rack in front of the cockpit. A short projection off the side of the rack held the butt end of the harpoon. When a harpoon hit an animal, the rope attached to the harpoon head uncoiled from the rack and the float was thrown into the water.
