The Bowhead Whale
Bowhead Whale Sculpture, 941.46.152.G/HC4519 The meat and especially the skin of the bowhead whale have long been valued foods to the Inuit. Its oil was used as lamp fuel. Tools were fashioned from the whale bone, and in former times, whale bones were used for house supports.
