| The White Whale or Beluga |
 |
The white whale is hunted throughout the eastern Arctic, although in northwestern
Baffin Island its distribution and its value to the Inuit are limited. The skin
of the white whale is an Inuit delicacy. White whale oil has been valued as lamp
fuel and its sinew has been used for thread.
